About Us

That Firewood Place is run from our family farm, CLEGR Farms, on Highway 6 in Manitoba's Interlake.

CLEGR stands for our family: Curtis, Loni, Elena, Greyson and Rowan. We started the farm in 2020 as a first-generation farm. We grow wheat, oats, canola and hay, and we sell firewood from the yard.

Loni Jack of That Firewood Place and CLEGR Farms, Manitoba

Curtis was raised here in the Interlake, around cattle and the gravel business. Loni Jack was raised in Taku River Tlingit territory in northern British Columbia.

Loni and our three children are members of Berens River First Nation in Treaty 5 territory. Loni's Métis heritage runs through the McKay family of Berens River. Her great-grandfather, George Edmund McKay, started the Manitoba Métis Federation local there. Her great-great-great-grandfather, Angus McKay, sat in Manitoba's first Legislative Assembly in 1870.

That Firewood Place is a CCIB Certified Indigenous Business.
